Meteora is one of the most unsolved geological phenomenon in the world, since the 9th century AD, where Christian monks chose to establish their first ascetic monasteries. Meteora is a place where holiness is spread through huge rocks and the “hanging” Monasteries are breathtaking. After visiting the two main monasteries you will have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with Byzantine hagiography art, with a special tour to a local workshop.
